The operator has to push the button to allow a potential burn to be allowed. The L01's you have to press the button to be in "inhibit" mode. 1). Take the car for a drive on the freeway at the speed limit and drop down a gear or two to bring engine revs up to 2500. Hold for 20-30 minutes. This will assist the car to do a passive regeneration. The main reason DPF’s get blocked is short trips and city driving. Drive Faster.
There are two types of regeneration: passive and active. Passive DPF regeneration . Passive regeneration occurs when the car is running at speed on long motorway journeys which allows the exhaust temperature to increase to a higher level and cleanly burn off the excess soot in the filter.
Once hot, stationary regeneration @ 2,200 rpm requires a consistent 16 minutes to complete. Next stationary regeneration, experiment with higher engine rpms. Stationary regeneration fuel cost is only ~~$1.00 Does RK55 manual suggest engine rpms during stationary regeneration?
Anyone know how long the procedure takes when you start it and what sustained / elevated rpm does it take the engine to? Click to expand Post #18 Manual Regen
Eventually dealer told me if dpf light came on to take car on open road and select a gear (4) sport auto and drive at 3500 rpm (110 klm) until dpf light went out. So far this has worked. Need to travel 20-25 klm to complete regen. DPF needs to achieve 600c min to do an active burn. Reply
